Best Plan for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party runs on select nights from August through the end of October. It is a separate ticketed event that begins at 7pm and goes until midnight. They offer parades, and trick-or-treating, a stage show as well as exclusive characters you can only meet during this event. In my opinion is so so much fun and worth the extra cost! Here are my tips on how to make this event a magical time for your family.

  1. You are able to enter the Magic Kingdom as early as 4pm with the party ticket. If this is your only day at the Magic Kingdom plan on being there a little before 4pm so you can enter as soon as possible and enjoy the parks for a little bit before the party begins. If this is not your only day at the Mag Kingdom I recommend showing up after 5pm. There are a couple of reasons; one reason is when you show up at 4pm it will be very crowded at the front of the park. The other is since the Magic Kingdom closes at 6pm the park itself tends to be busy in the cross over hours.

  2. If you have younger children who go to bed on the early side late events can be a challenge. You know your kids best, rest during the day and plan a pool day for the day after the party. Pick a couple of things that are a priority during the party ie parade or show and that’ll help make sure you get things done you want to do. *Know that you will not be able to do it all on one night no matter how early you arrive. If your kids are older or you’re a west coast family and staying up to midnight isn’t a big deal stay at the Magic Kingdom as long as you can!! As the night goes on the wait times go down for the rides and the crowds go down in the parks, perfect for fun pictures too! `

  3. If characters are your thing GET IN LINE EARLY. This is especially true for Jack & Sally. Grab a map when you enter the party and it will show you where characters are going to be. Jack and Sally wait can be hours and hours.

  4. Trick-Or-Treating in the Magic Kingdom is so fun and they hand out some great candy!! You don’t need to bring your own bag they will give you one. Again grab a map when you enter the park as it will show you the spots, and if you have an allergy it shows you the allergy spot too.

  5. Enjoy the parade and the stage show. I have seen a lot of people recommend going to the second one if two are offered due to crowds. This is great advice if you’re able to stay later in the evening. But if you have young children and are thinking they won’t make it all night enjoy the first show offered!

6. Take advantage of the Magic Shots! Some of these fun ones are only offered during the party.

The Halloween party is one of my favorite events. I love the show and parade and of course the candy. Not waiting in long lines for the rides can’t be beat too. Please let me know if you have questions I am happy to help!
