Walt Disney World Ticket types

Hello Disney travelers-

Today’s post is about the different type of theme park tickets you can purchase for visiting Walt Disney World. These tickets can be apart of your resort stay or you can purchase them separately.

Starting with the basic One Park Per Day- With one park per day tickets you will be able to enter one of the four theme parks per day. The four theme parks you may pick to enter are

  • Epcot

  • Magic Kingdom

  • Animal Kingdom

  • Hollywood Studios

You may reenter the same park all day long! Which I find key to making a summer day at the parks work, those midday pool breaks are key to a happy family. Depending on the number of days you purchase you can do any combination of parks. For example if you purchase a 5 day One Park Per Day ticket you can; visit the Magic Kingdom on two different days, visit Epcot one time, Animal Kingdom one time and lastly Hollywood Studios one time. What will not work is if you decide you want to visit two parks on the same day. Even if you want to use an extra park pass, you will not be able to. If you want to visit more than one park per day what you will want to purchase are Park Hoppers.

Park Hoppers- These are my go to type of tickets, they are not for everyone, but we personally love to park hop. You will be able to hit any and all the theme parks in one day (if you’re crazy like that). Currently you still need to make a park pass reservation for one park to start with. After you have visited the theme park you reserved for that day, you may hop to the next park starting after 2pm (based on availability). One of the reasons I really like park hopping is being able to eat dinner in Epcot each night, or catching the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom (when they happen again).

Park Hopper Plus Option- With the Park Hopper Plus option you can enter the four theme parks in one day (if you like craziness) and then you will be able to enter one of the two water parks! Currently Blizzard Beach is the only water park open, but when Typhoon Lagoon opens you can enter there as well! If you have purchased a 4 day Park Hopper Plus Ticket you can enter each of the 4 theme parks for 4 days & then you will also have a 4 day pass to enter one of the water parks. It is like double the ticket! If you are planing on going in the summer this is a great deal and will be a great activity to do on a hot summer afternoon! This ticket also gives you access to the NBA experience in Disney Springs (currently closed). Other benefits to this ticket are: Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course (green fees only), Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course (one round each), Disney’s Winer Summerland Miniature Gold Course (one Round each).

Water Park & Sports Option- This ticket is very similar to Park Hopper Plus, but there will be NO park hopping. If you purchase a 3 day Water Park & Sports Option ticket you can enter any of the 4 theme parks for three days as well as 3 days of water parks, or golf, mini or regular golfing, as well as the NBA experience. The only big difference from this ticket option and the park hopper plus option is the hopping of the theme parks!

You can also purchase just water park tickets and not enter any of the theme parks!
