Walt Disney World Transportation

When you check into your Walt Disney World resort transportation is included to all of the theme parks and to Disney Springs. If you’re wondering how you will get to each of the theme parks from your hotel read on! Contact me anytime for a free Disney vacation quote & planning.

Value Resorts

All-Star Movies, Music & Sports- All three All-Star resorts are walkable to each other and they offer a bus to all of the theme parks and Disney Springs.

Pop Century & Art of Animation- These two resorts are walkable to each other & share a gondola station. The gondola or as Disney calls it the Skyliner will take you to Caribbean Beach resort first before you switch to the Hollywood Studios line or Epcot. To get to Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom you can take a bus.

Moderate Resorts

Caribbean Beach- has the gondola hub. You can pick the Epcot line and you’ll swing through Riviera Resort first or the Hollywood Studios line for direct access to the park. You can take a bus if you’d like to go to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom. This large resort has multiple bus stops so note which one is closest to your room.

Port Orleans French Quarter & Riverside- has a bus to all of the theme parks & a boat to Disney Springs. Riverside is the larger of the two sister resorts and will have multiple bus stops.

Wilderness Campground- has a boat to Magic Kingdom & a bus to all of the other theme parks. This is a very large resort a lot of guests rent golf carts to get around here. Disney does offer a bus to go all around the resort.

Coronado Springs- another large resort with multiple bus stops. They do offer a bus to all of the theme parks and Disney Springs.

Deluxe Resorts

Magic Kingdom Resorts

Grand Floridian- With a new walking path to the Magic Kingdom you have options! You can walk about .5 miles depending on where your room is, take the monorail over one stop or the boat with a stop at the Polynesian before hitting the Magic Kingdom. To get to Epcot you will take the monorail all the way around the water to the ticket and transportation center and switch to the Epcot line. To get to Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, or Disney Springs you can take a bus out front of the lobby.

Polynesian- A little farther away than the Grand Floridian but still walkable to the Magic Kingdom, or you can take the monorail with a stop at the Grand or the boat for direct access. To get to Epcot you can either walk to the ticket and transportation center or take the monorail over and switch to the Epcot line. Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Disney Springs all will have a bus stop & do tend to share buses with the Grand Floridian.

Contemporary Resort- This resort is the closest to the Magic Kingdom with a short walk or you can take the monorail. For Epcot, you will take the monorail to the next stop: The Ticket and Transportation Center and switch to the Epcot line. For Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Disney Springs they have a bus stop out front.

Wilderness Lodge- One of my personal favorite resorts, will have a boat to the Magic Kingdom, and on not-so-nice days they have a bus. You can take a bus to Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Disney Springs.

Epcot Resorts

Boardwalk Inn, Beach & Yacht Club- Love these resorts so much!! To get to Epcot or Hollywood Studios you can walk. Hollywood Studios is a little farther from all three of these deluxe resorts, but Epcot is so close, just steps away from the Beach Club. If either of these is too far for you they do offer a boat to both theme parks. To get to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, or Disney Springs they will have a bus.

Riviera Resort- Disney’s newest resort is walkable to Caribbean Beach Resort. They have a gondola straight to Epcot or you can take a gondola to Caribbean Beach (or walk) and get onto the Hollywood Studios line. They do offer a bus to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom & Disney Springs.

Disney Springs Resorts

Old Key West & Saratoga Springs- These two sprawling DVC resorts have a boat to Disney Springs. Saratoga is walkable, depending on your definition of walkable. They will have a bus (with multiple bus stops) to all of the theme parks.

Animal Kingdom Resort

Animal Kingdom Lodge- This gorgeous resort has a bus to all of the theme parks and Disney Springs.

  • There is no transportation between the resorts. To get from resort to resort you have to go to a theme park first. Most cases best bet is to go to Magic Kingdom and walk to the bus stop and find the resorts but you’re looking to visit.

Water Park Transportation

Heading to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach most resorts will have a bus to Animal Kingdom theme park or Disney Springs where you will transfer to the water park bus. Check your Disney App for the current transportation options here.

Ride Share

One of the ways we like to get around quickly is a ride share. I highly recommend them for when visiting the water parks, or trying to get to a reservation faster. The Minnie Van in the picture above is a Disney transportation you can order through the Lyft app. What is fantastic about them is they can drop you off at the same spots any Disney bus can. This makes the biggest difference at the Magic Kingdom. Where a standard Uber or Lyft can still bring you to the park but will drop you off at the ticket and transportation center. You will then have to transfer to either a boat, the monorail or on busy days a bus to the front gate of the Magic Kingdom.
