What I would do and not do on my next Walt Disney World trip

We just got back from a week in Walt Disney World. We did some new things and hit up some classics. I don’t know about you but do you chat about your next vacation while on your current one? Well we do, even if we don’t have it booked yet. We came up with a list of things we can’t wait to do again and things we will skip next time.

Things we will do again-

  • Gideon’s Bakehouse- If I could stop here every day of vacation I would. I love their cookies and don’t even get me started on the peanut butter cold brew, it is amazing! 5/5 for everything coffee to cookies to cake.

  • Sanaa- This was our first time here. I can’t wait to go back! From the service to the food and vibe of the restaurant it is a 5/5.

  • After Hour Events- This separate ticketed event is held on select nights. We were lucky to experience it twice, once at Epcot & once at Magic Kingdom. This is an amazing opportunity to experience your favorite rides with little to no wait times. We walked on Guardians the first time and got to ride it three times total!! Same with Tron at the Magic Kingdom. These new popular rides are only accessible during the day via individual lighting lane or virtual queue. Also included in the price of this event are Mickey bars !! 5/5 experience!

  • Speaking of rides and things next time I go to Walt Disney World I 100% want to ride Guardians of the Galaxy. This ride is amazing and my new favorite Disney ride. Like I said above we rode it three times during the After Hours Epcot event. During this ride it has a song that goes with, kind of Like Rock ‘n Roller Coaster. We got: September, One Way or anther & Disco Inferno. It is such a smooth coaster with some cool effects! I can’t wait to ride it again!!

  • Yak & Yeti- this sit down restaurant in Animal Kingdom theme park is one of the best spots to eat in Disney World! 5/5

  • Wine Bar George- if you have read my blog before you know this is one of my favorite spots to eat in Disney. The food and wine is top notch 5/5

  • Enchanted Rose- This beautiful bar area in the Grand Floridian has amazing food and great drinks. I look forward to being back! 5/5 for drinks, food and service!

  • We stayed at Disney’s Beach Club resort. I would 100% stay here again. They are sister resorts to the Yacht Club, giving you more shopping and dining options. These two resorts have hands down the best pool on property! The Beach Club is also walkable to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, what is better at the end of the day than not waiting for any transportation?!

Things we will not be doing next time

  • Ohana- We have eaten here before, pre-pandemic, and we loved it then. The food and service was not awful this time, but it was not as good as we remembered & it is an expensive meal. We felt rushed and our main course came out before we had even finished with the salad or even gotten our appetizers. For the price I would rather eat at a couple of other places. 3/5 rating

  • Resort Refillable Mugs- My family is split on this. But for me I am not a big soda drinker & that is really where this is worth it. I am a boring old water or unsweetened ice tea person. I think next time I will skip the mug and bring a reusable water bottle and just stick to water, and maybe a margarita ;)

  • Booking the 5am flight to get to Disney- I do this all the time, and to be honest this is probably a lie, I will probably book the first flight out again. I like getting there early, I mean who wouldn’t want more Disney time? But most times the room is not ready & I am still in my NewEngland clothes. If the room could be ready early & I could have a moment to change and get settled this would be great, but alas this is not always possible. So next time I will book a later in the day flight and get a better night sleep before vacation begins.

Do you have any must do things when you go to Walt Disney World?
